We must label GMO foods for the safety of millions of people who buy and consume Genetically modified foods every day. Based on Politifact 75% of food at grocery stores are genetically modified. Customers should and must be informed of what they are consuming and putting in their bodies.
Yes people could research their eating habits but most people just don’t have the time to research the foods that are good for them, they have jobs, bills, and many other responsibilities that fall on their shoulders. Labelling food items that are genetically modified will help people who do want to eat healthily and make better choices but don't have the time to seek foods that are good for them.
According to tracegains, most of the population is nodding yes to labeling GMO foods because the American people should deserve to know what is in their food. Studies from the American Academy of Environmental Medicine the AAEM says otherwise and that testing GMOs has shown to have SERIOUS health impacts on consumers which include infertility, immune problems, accelerated aging, insulin regulation, changes in major organs, and more. This is why it’s even more crucial to inform the people of what they are consuming. Labeling GMOs are crucial and are important for the well-being of millions of Americans.
